02.12.2004 - IPO of TVN heavily oversubscribed.
TVN S.A. set the issue price at PLN 32 per share for its initial public offering on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Based on the Offer Price investors have valued TVN at PLN 2.1 billion. TVN's offering was met with significant demand across all markets including a great response from investors in Poland. "The success of our IPO is an endorsement of our strategy. We shall continue with the vigorous implementation of our strategic priorities: to source attractive programming content, focus on our advertising customers' needs, convert audience share growth into advertising revenues and exploit further expansion opportunities" said Piotr Walter, the President and CEO of TVN. TVN shares will start trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange with the opening bell on Tuesday, 07.12.2004.

13.09.2004 - TVN hosts the 2004 Miss Polonia Event.
19 year old Katarzyna Borowicz became on 11.09.2004 a Poland's beauty queen. Katarzyna Borowicz who will "reign" for one year as Miss Polonia will represent Poland in the Miss World 2004 beauty pageant to take place in China later this year. The Saturday show, organized by TVN, took place in the "Roma" theater and was broadcast live on TVN. The evening was hosted by Magdalena Molek and Olivier Janiak. Alicja Bobrowska-Zyczak, who won the title of Miss Polonia in 1957 and was the first Miss Polonia following the end of WWII was invited as guest of honor. In addition to beautiful contestants, the audience could admire the stars of the Polish music scene, these being Various Manx, Blue Cafe and Edyta Gorniak.

10.09.2004 - ITI Film Studio brings the best entertainment to town: Flamenco and Prof!
Flamenco at its best, performed by Stella Arauzo, Cristina Gracia Sanchez and Adrian Sanchez sent shivers through the audience at the Polish National Theater on 04.09.2004, which honored this worldclass performance with a standing ovation. Next day's press was equally enthusiastic about the Flamenco show, which reportedly attracted such crowds the Polish National Theater hasn't seen for a long time. The Saturday Flamenco show is to be remembered for its unique atmosphere created by the performers who mastered the dance to perfection. The show was produced and organized by ITI Film Studio and Iwona Gsaenger-Liberek.
ITI Film Studio is also a producer of a one-actor play "Prof!" starring Wojciech Pszoniak and directed by Michal Kwiecinski. "Prof!", a fascinating monologue by the Belgian playwriter Jean-Pierre Dopagne translated by Boguslawa Frosztega, which has been performed in 27 countries up to date, will open at the "Bajka" in Warsaw on 20.09.2004. The premiere marks the inauguration of theatrical activities at this unique place, which under the ITI Film Studio's management is to become also a new theater scene in Warsaw called from now on the Bajka Cinema-Theater.

07.09.2004 - Fakty and TVN24 broadcast from the most advanced newsroom in Europe!
Fakty and TVN 24 not only take the lead in providing the most comprehensive and independent news and information but as of 07.09.04 started to broadcast from their new joint news studio. Up to 100 journalists will work in the new studio which features state of the art technology such as fully automated camera control, plasma screens including a large rear projection screen and a rotating anchor desk. This newsroom further increases TVN's operational efficiency and flexibility. The newsroom's most advanced technology and its groundbreaking new concept will be presented at the IBC Exhibition in Amsterdam, which will showcase the latest technology in broadcasting and media.

03.09.2004 - TVN Foundation organizes "the goodwill match" between Poland's leading football clubs, raising funds in support of University Children's Hospital in Cracow.
Legia Warszawa won 4:0 over Wisla Krakow in its friendly game organized by the TVN Foundation "Nie jestes sam" ("You are not alone"). The score itself is not important as the "game of goodwill" was to raise funds in support of the renovation of the Infant Intensive Care Unit of University Children's Hospital in Cracow. The game drew thousands of spectators to the Cracow stadium, which was broadcast live on TVN, all of which enjoyed being guests of an attractive game. The Foundation raised PLN 580'000.

24.08.2004 - Onet.pl has reasons to smile.
Onet.pl is known to virtually every Polish WWW user. It is the most popular and the best recognized Internet brand in Poland. Prompted awareness of Onet.pl exceeds 97%, while spontaneous awareness is 77% (source: Interbus, TNS OBOP, April - June 2004). It is also Poland's most frequently quoted Internet source and ranks among the most frequently quoted media in Poland. 19.08.2004 - TVN programmed to be the best! TVN unveiled its new schedule during the fall preview event on Wednesday.
TVN promised various changes in its schedule this fall. There will be new series, talk and game shows and documentaries in addition to programs which already won its loyal audience. "Fakty" news will have a new appearance, additional afternoon edition at 16.40 and as of September 6th it will be broadcast from the new studio equipped with the most advanced state of the art devices and facilities. Among the fall novelties are: "Najsztub asks", a talk show hosted by Piotr Najsztub, the well known Polish journalist; "Expedition Robinson" a blockbuster reality show with contestants stranded on a remote Malaysian island, competing for the PLN 100'000 top prize while exposed to the harsh natural elements and threatening situations and "Ciao Darwin", a high profile primetime game show hosted by Piotr Szwedes. This fall TVN will also bring suspense to your home by introducing a new series "Kryminalni" featuring the most intriguing criminal investigations set in present day Warsaw and "W-11- Criminal Investigation Department", a docusoap about the work of Polish police force. Sports enthusiasts are invited to witness the best of Polish soccer live from the UEFA Cup as well as the highlights from the Polish Extraklasa and some of the most exciting boxing fights.

01.07.2004 - Ebargo Nagrania sucessfully released its third product.
Embargo Nagrania, a division of Impresariat ITI, released "U Ciebie w miescie" ("In your town"), a hip-hop compilation featuring Poland 's top rappers such as WWO, Vienio i Pele, Fenomen to name just a few. "U Ciebie w miescie" follows the success of Embargo Nagrania's previous releases, these being Grammatik's mini-album "Reaktywacja" (Reactivation) and "Muzyka Powazna" ("Serious Music") by Pezet Noon, and is making its way up in Polish music charts. "U Ciebie w miescie" has been promoted extensively during the "RBK HipHop Tour" the largest of its kind in Poland to date. In addition, Embargo Nagrania has been entrusted to handle the catalogue of Poland's leading hip-hop label - Asfalt Records.

27.06.2004 - Onet.pl - the most popular place to blog in the Polish Internet.
Blogs (Web logs) - Internet diaries - are gaining popularity in Poland . On 25 February 2004 Onet.pl launched its own blog service, www.blog.onet.pl, and within four months attracted over 140'000 users becoming the most popular blog provider in Poland. www.blog.onet.pl is a free of charge service, by Onet.pl available in two versions: basic and teen. Bloggers are provided with a sophisticated yet user-friendly system. No advanced Web knowledge is required. Internet users can post as many blogs as they wish, they can also participate in group blogs, which can count any number of co-authors.

25.05.2004 - "Restoring Hope" raises PLN 5'3 million in support of the renovation of the Child Health Center.
On 23.05.2004, the " Restoring Hope - Spring Picnic", which took place in Warsaw, completed the second round of the charity campaign supporting child healthcare in Poland by raising funds for the renovation of the Child Health Center, Poland's largest children's hospital. "Restoring Hope" is a joint action lead by the foundation "Porozumienie bez barier"
("Understanding with no barriers"), established and run by Jolanta Kwasniewska, Poland's First Lady and the TVN Foundation "Nie jestes sam" ("You are not alone").

21.05.2004 - "Kryminalni" TVN's new crime series is now being filmed.
On 18.05.2004 MTL Maxfilm started shooting the TV criminal series "Kryminalni" directed by Ryszard Zatorski ("Never in My Life!") and Piotr Weresniak. The series, which is to be broadcast on TVN, follows detective Adam Zawada (Marek Wlodarczyk) in his quest to solve the most intriguing criminal investigations set in present day Warsaw. "Kryminalni" feauters crime, suspense, investigation and cat-and-mouse chases enticing viewers to follow clues and perhaps... solve the case faster than detective Zawada. TVN will broadcast the series in Autumn.

24.04.2004 - ITI Film Studio to co-produce "Vinci" by Juliusz Machulski, director of Polish blockbusters such as "Kiler", "Va Banque" and "Sexmission".
ITI Film Studio and TVN, together with Zebra Film Studio and WFDiF are co-producing the newest crime movie of Juliusz Machulski titled "Vinci". "Vinci" is about the theft of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting "Lady with an Ermine" from the Czartoryski Museum in Cracow. Shooting started in April with the premiere planned for autumn. The film is co-financed by Canal+ and the Polish Film Productions Agency, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Culture.

18.03.2004 - Polish Television Academy's Wiktor awards were presented.
The Wiktor awards - "the Polish Oscars" - are presented to TV's most popular television personalities. Among the Wiktor 2003 winners were - actress Joanna Brodzik from TVN's sitcom "Kasia i Tomek", Janusz Rewinski and Krzysztof Piasecki, editors and performers in TVN's satirical format "Ale plama" ("Shame on you") and Anita Werner, a news presenter of TVN and TVN 24, who received the Wiktor for "Television Discovery of the Year".
The Wiktor Awards is an annual event which has been held since 1985 and since 1992, winners are voted for by members of the Polish Television Academy.

08.03.2004 - Multikino opens new multiplex cinema in Szczecin.
On 5 March 2004, Multikino opened its seventh multiplex cinema in Szczecin. The new Multikino is located in the main shopping mall "Galaxy" in the middle of Szczecin and its nine luxury auditoriums seat up to 2'125 persons. The multiplex is one of the most modern of its kind in Poland and is equipped with the latest plasma screen technology, Dolby Digital surround sound systems, including Dolby Digital Surround EX in its two largest auditoriums.
