17.11.2008 - Open doors day at Legia.

 

With the start of the construction works, which are about to begin at the Legia stadium, the club organized an Open Doors Day on Sunday, 16.11.2008. Visitors got a glimpse of the attractions which will come on arrival of the new stadium. The event was opened by the performance of Hasao dance group, followed by many further attractions such as karate show, the concert of the Queens band and as highlight of the day - a match between the Legia Champions and Warsaw City's representation. Guests could also visit the club's museum and receive the players' autographs. The new Legia stadium is expected to ready in January, 2011, after which date Warsaw people will be given an opportunity to enjoy not only sport but also music and other entertainment events to take place at the exquisite modern stadium.

 


05.11.2008 - TVN Group Poland's leading opinion-maker.

 

TVN Group television channels and the internet portal onet.pl are Poland's leading opinion-makers based on a survey by the Media Monitoring Institute in September 2008. TVN24 was acknowledged as the leading opinion-forming television channel. The first polish 24-hour news channel has been referred to and quoted by other media 382 times. The TVN channel ranked second being quoted 215 times, with TVN CNBC Biznes coming in fourth with 62 quotes.The position of an unquestionable leader of the Polish Internet belongs to Onet.pl., which has been quoted by other media 208 times. Onet.pl enjoyed a significant lead over its closest competitors: tvp.info (51 quotes), interia (48 quotes) and money.pl (45 quotes). The Media Monitoring Institute analyzed 7,578 media messages, which appeared between the 1st and the 30th of September 2008 in press, radio and television, and on the Internet.

 


04.11.2008 - "n", the new generation television exceeds the number of 400,000 subscribers.

On 31 October 2008 the new generation television n exceeded the number of 400,000 subscribers and the recorded 20 000 pre-paid television clients. Over the past two months "n" recorded a nearly 100% sales growth year on year. The coming months are traditionally the peak sales season for services provided by DTH platforms. "n" is confident to reach its target of 500,000 subscribers by the year end. The new generation television n is the largest HD satellite platform in Poland in terms of the number of subscribers owning HD (high definition) decoders and the only satellite platform in Poland which does not charge extra fees for access to its HD channels. Wojciech Kostrzewa, president and CEO of the ITI Group has said: "A technologically advanced and a rich program offer accompanied by a developed sales network make n the most dynamically developing digital platform in Poland. We are pleased that the adapted business model focusing on providing the highest quality entertainment and also the state-of-the-art technological solutions has received favorably by the market". The pre-paid offering "Telewizja na Kartę" launched on 3 October 2008 by n's subsidiary Cyfrowy Dom has been received with large interest. Almost 90 thousand decoders have been delivered to retail outlest with over 20,000 set-top boxes having been activated by its clients. The new generation television n launched in October 2006 offers attractive premium content (films, series, sport) complemented with a full offer of thematic channels of the TVN Group. n has set new technological standards on the Polish market: HD channels, HD decoders with a recording function - PVR and Video on Demand service - VoD. Subscribers of "n" constitute 80% of recipients of payable HD television and 9% of the entire market of digital platforms in Poland. The "n"platform is jointly owned by the ITI Group (75%) and the TVN Group (25%).

 


03.11.2008 - "The Best Results Ever", TVN Group announced audience share results for October 2008.

In October 2008 TVN broke its record in the all day nationwide audience share. TVN was the market leader in peak time and the only big television channel in Poland to record an increase in the audience share, both on an all day basis and in peak time. TVN's all day nationwide audience share rose to 19.4% from 17.5% in October 2007. TVN channel also increased its audience share in peak time achieving 22.5% compared to 20.6% in October 2007. In the basic commercial target group (16-49) TVN channel significantly improved its audience share results, achieving a record all day market share. TVN was again the undisputable market leader and the only one among big television channels in Poland to improve its audience share results in that target group, both in peak time and on an all day basis. In October 2008 TVN channel significantly strengthened its leadership in the key target group, increasing its all day audience share year on year by 3.6 percentage points to the historically highest level. Thanks to such excellent performance, TVN channel almost doubled the results recorded by its main competitors! In October 2008 TVN Group aggregate peak time (18:00-23:00) audience share in the basic commercial target group (16-49) rose to 27.7% from 25.5% in the corresponding period of 2007.

 


20.10.2008 - TVN's new internet service.

 

TVN has launched a new version of its website www.tvn.pl. The new site not only provides information on the channel but also as a navigation panel for the other channels of TVN Group, four of which, TVN7, TVN Style, TVN Turbo and iTVN re-launched their respective sites simultaneously with TVN. The new sites are more than just ordinary websites - next to the information about the channels, Internet users can enjoy various interactive functions such as the electronic program guide - the multimedia guide to TVN Group channels' programs. The new sites were created having in mind the needs of TVN's audience and will be continuously expanded by adding new extension and new functions. The new internet services are a joint effort of TVN's new media department, Artegence, an advertising agency specialized in interactive media, and DreamLab, a research and new technology development unit of Grupa Onet.pl.

 


20.10.2008 - religia.tv increases its reach.

 

religia.tv a channel produced by ITI Neovision, which was up to date was exclusive to n, the new generation television, is now distributed by other Polish cable providers such as Aster, UPC Polska and Cyfra+. religia.tv is equally available to all subscribers of the "pre-paid television". The channel targets viewers who desire to have an unlimited access to programs about faith and religion. Religia.tv's extensive programming offer includes a broad variety of formats such as interactive shows, documentaries, classic movies, programs on culture and popular science, talk-shows as well as cooking and travelling formats. The content deals mostly with Christianity and its influence on Polish culture and public life but does not omit informative programs on other religions. The most unique initiative is an exclusive current affairs magazine, "Raport z Rzymu" ("Report from Rome") analyzing the most important events from the perspective of their influence on the Catholic church. religia.tv channel is managed byFather Kazimierz Sowa. Szymon Holownia, the renowned journalist and publicist, acts as its programming director.

 


07.10.2008 - Onet launches new social network service.


Grupa Onet.pl SA launched a new social network service www.rodziceradza.pl devoted to parenthood. It is the second service aimed at parents, and parents to be, following dziecko.onet.pl. The new portal is dedicated to women expecting a child, and parents of babies and toddlers. www.rodziceradza.pl is based on Q&A formula featuring questions and answers posted by its community members. The community will be supported by a team of experts of including a pediatrician, gynecologist, psychologist and midwife. The service is to include the qualified content, however its major part is to be created by its users, who may post texts, run mini-blogs featuring their profiles, create image galleries, or track favorite topics and RSS feeds. All posts can be ranked by other users, which allows to identify the best writers within the community. Rodziceradza.pl is Onet.pl's first service based on the Q&A formula, which is expected to successively complement the portal's offer.

 


06.10.2007 - Multikino to host the Horrorfestival.

 

Between 21st and 25th of October, Multikino will host the horror film festival. The festival will feature the most interesting thrillers of the last years, which were never screened nor distributed on DVD on the Polish market. The films are produced by the new upcoming stars of the horror genre, who are celebrated among the fans of horror movies.The festival will screen movies representing various genres, from the very black humor to classical horror movies based on fear but not necessarily on special effects. 01.10.2008 - "TVN's got talent!" TVN Group announced outstanding performance in September 2008.


In September 2008 our TVN channel, reaching 87% of households in Poland, recorded excellent results. TVN channel significantly improved its audience share results and was the most widely watched television channel in Poland in all important categories. In September 2008 TVN channel strengthened its leadership in the key target group (16-49, cities over 100,000 inhabitants), increasing its peak time (18:00 - 23:00) audience share to 26.4% from 26.2% in the corresponding period of 2007. In the same period Polsat lost more than 1 percentage point recording 17.1%, whilst TVP1 lost almost 1 percentage point recording 13.7% of audience share in our key target group. In the basic commercial target group (16-49) TVN channel increased its audience share in peak time achieving 21.3% compared to 20.3% in September 2007. TVN was the undisputable market leader and the only one among big television channels in Poland to improve its audience share results in that target group. In September 2008 TVN also significantly increased its peak time audience share on an nationwide basis to 21.6% from 20.00% in the corresponding period of 2007. In that category TVN was again the market leader and the only big television channel to record an increase in its audience share. Such outstanding results are due to the TVN's excellent autumn season programming offer which includes locally produced high quality programs and series as well as foreign movies. In September TVN successfully launched a new entertainment show Mam Talent - a Polish version of Got Talent, a well known and a very popular program in more than 20 countries worldwide. The new show was also extremely well received by the Polish audience, attracting up to 4.9 mln viewers and recording up to 52% of audience share in our key target group (up to 43.4% of audience share in the basic commercial target group and up to 34.8% of nationwide audience share). Other programs also performed very well. In September 2008 TVN Group aggregate peak time audience share in the basic commercial target group rose to 25.7% from 24.9% in the corresponding period of 2007. At the same time TVN Group increased its aggregate nationwide audience share in peak time to 25.8% from 24.6% in September 2007.

 


01.10.2008 - France 24, Russia Today and Deutsche Welle broadcast on Onet.pl.

 

Onet.pl has launched video news services featuring the following channels: Russia Today, Deutsche Welle and France 24. France 24 is available in two language versions - French and English. Video streaming is available free of charge, 24 hours 7 days a week on Onet.tv but can also be accessed through Wiadomości Onet.pl (TV section). Footage from Russia Today, Deutsche Welle and France 24 is complemented by a new discussion forums allowing the internet users an instant opinion exchange.

 


30.09.2008 - "Cyfrowy Dom", a new company owned by ITI Neovision to introduce a "pre-paid television" to the Polish market.

 

On 03.10.2008, "Cyfrowy Dom" a subsidiary of ITI Neovision launched "pre-paid (card access) TV". Introducing to the Polish market the easiest way to access television without the need to sign a contract or to pay fixed subscription fees. Pre-paid TV customers receive free access to five channels: TVN, TVN7, TVP1, TVP2, RELIGIA.TV in addition to several hundred unencrypted satellite channels. The starter package includes three-month free access to further channels such as TVN 24, NSPORT, TVN TURBO, TVN STYLE, TVN CNBC BIZNES, TVN METEO, TVP INFO, TVP SPORT, DISNEY CHANNEL. Clients wishing to access the entire package channels have four payment (card-refilling) options: one , three, six or twelve months. The price for a monthly card range from PLN 10 per month for an annaul refille and on shorter card refill periods, the monthly price is PLN 12 for six-months, PLN 14 for three-months and PLN 16 for one month. Cards may be refilled through a bank transfer, and in a later stage, at selected points of sale, and electronically. 24.09.2008 - II National English Test by Onet.pl and TVN Lingua.

 

Onet.pl and TVN Lingua invite all interested to participate in the II National English Test. The interactive test has been prepared in cooperation with Empik School. This year's edition's motto is "What language mistakes do Poles make?". Starting on 22 September through to 29 September, anyone willing to challenge his language skills may take the online test online by clicking www.tvnlingua.onet.pl. The test results will be published on 1 October. Over 100.000 people took part in the I National English Test reaching on average 27.1 out of 45 possible points. This corresponds to the B2 level (higher intermediate) under the Common European Framework system devised by the Council of Europe defining levels and standards of teaching. Under the Cambridge system, it corresponds to a completed FCE exam, which means that Onet's net users speak English fairly well.

15.09.2008 - "n television town", the second edition of the biggest autumn picnic to take place in Warsaw.

 

n, the new generation television and Poland's most advanced digital platform will celebrate its second anniversary with a picnic event to take place on 21.09.2008 at the Kepa Potocka in Warsaw. During the day, n will present its current program offer. Visitors will have an opportunity to meet TVN stars and celebrities, to learn about the work of television hosts and journalists and to find out why it is not so easy to be an actor. The "n television town" will see Jurek Owsiak with his O.TV channel, guests of which will not only be able to learn about the first aid rules but also try their journalistic skills in the O.TV studio. The best "performers" might have a chance to debut as O.TV channel hosts. Children and youngsters are also welcome in the "n television town". A special entertainment offer for small guests includes a theme park studded with the popular Cartoon Network and Boomerang characters, "mad scientists" from Da Vinci channel, and a concert by Majka Jezowska for the youngest visitors. The event program includes a concert by Polish top vocalists including - Maryla Rodowicz. 03.09.2008 - TVN's excellent performance in spite of the Olympic games.

 

TVN Group announced audience share results for August 2008. In August 2008 TVN channel was the number one in its key target group (16-49, cities over 100,000 inhabitants) achieving at peak time (18:00-23:00) an audience share of 21.5%, almost four percentage points ahead of our nearest competitor Polsat which had 17.8%. This is an excellent result taking into consideration the public television channels (TVP1, TVP2, TVP Info) broadcasted the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing at that time (8-24 August).2008 Sopot Festival live broadcast on August 24 was the most widely watched program on TVN channel during the whole month. In the basic commercial target group (16-49), it achieved 33.5% of audience share - an unprecedented result since TVN started to organize and broadcast the Festival in 2005. In TVN's key target group, the result was even more impressive - 46.4% of audience share. On August 12, 2008 TVN presented its autumn schedule, which should largely determine the Polish television landscape in the 4th quarter, the most important quarter of the year. TVN channel will broadcast three big entertainment shows weekly. Apart from Taniec z Gwiazdami and You can dance - po prostu tańcz!, that already conquered the hearts of Poles, September will bring Mam Talent! - a Polish version of Got Talent, a well known and a very successful show in more than 20 countries. 03.09.2008 - "n", the new generation television announced its development plans during a press conference yesterday.

 

During the press conference on 02.09.2008 in the Narodowy Theater in Warsaw, n, the new generation television, Poland's most advanced digital platform, announced its autumn development plans. Maciej Sojka, President of ITI Neovision presented a range new services and new channels extending n's program offering. n's youngest generation will see in the children package additions as the Disney Channel, Jim Jam and Nickelodeon each boosting the attractiveness of the children package. The Filmbox will be enhanced by film hits package, which previously was available as an additional option. The price of the extended film package will not change. The additional option of Filmbox will be enhanced by the new channel - Filmbox Family. Thanks to the MTV Network HD, to launch on 15.09.2008 within the "style, fashion, music" package, the music enthusiasts will have be able to watch the super stars' concerts in the highest sound and vision quality.

01.09.2008 - Sony Pictures Television International, one of the world's leading television producers, has optioned the right to produce Magda M series from TVN Group.

By virtue of an agreement concluded on July 30, 2008, Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI), one of the world's leading television producers, acquired the rights to produce TVN Group's Magda M series. The agreement allows SPTI to produce the series in Russia and the former Soviet bloc. Magda M. is a contemporary story of both serious and comical character. It presents the world of young and well educated people, who whilst focused on achieving their personal goals, realize however that there is more to life than just a career and financial success. It is a story about relationships and the search for intimacy, friendship and love. Magda M. has been one of the most popular programs of the TVN channel, attracting up to 4.6 million viewers and recording up to 34% of audience share.

 


12.08.2008 - TVN Group announced record results for the second quarter of 2008.

 

TVN Group net revenue increased 35% to PLN 550 million from PLN 407 million in the corresponding period of 2007. Advertising revenue increased 34% to PLN 436 million from PLN 324 million in 2007. This increase was primarily due to an increase in the revenue of the TVN channel which recorded an increase of PLN 85 million in net advertising revenue. Other channels contributed PLN 12 million more in advertising revenue then in the corresponding period of 2007, largely due to price increases. New Media cash revenue increased 43% to PLN 46 million. TVN Group operating profit increased 46% to PLN 227 million; its operating margin was 41%. EBITDA increased 43% to PLN 247 million from PLN 172 million in the corresponding period of 2007. EBITDA margin was 45% as compared to 42% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN Group net profit increased 50% to PLN 208 million. TVN Group share in net television advertising spend increased to 36.0% from 32.4% in the corresponding period of 2007. Piotr Walter, Chief Executive Officer of TVN S.A., said: "We have had a fantastic second quarter. We won the battle for ratings in the spring season and have outstanding financial results, achieving strong topline growth and yet again improving profitability."

04.08.2008 - TVN outperforms the market in July 2008

 

TVN Group announced audience share results for July 2008. TVN channel was number one in its key target group (16-49, cities over 100,000 inhabitants) achieving in peak time (18:00-23:00) 21.5%, over four percentage points ahead of its nearest competitor, Polsat which had 17.3%. In July 2008 the aggregate peak time audience share of the four big TV channels (TVN, Polsat, TVP1, TVP2) in the basic commercial target group (16-49) dropped by three percentage points. TVN channel outperformed the market, recording a drop of less than one percentage point, from 18% last July to 17.4% this July. TVN’s main news bulletin “Fakty” attracted up to 3.7 mln people. TVN’s current affairs program “Uwaga!” attracted up to 3.4 mln viewers. Docu-crime “W-11 Wydział Śledczy”  attracted up to 3 mln viewers and the series “Detektywi” attracted up to 2.2 mln viewers. Four out of the ten most widely watched programs on  TVN channel were locally produced programs. In July 2008, TVN Siedem, the entertainment channel reaching 47% of Polish households, recorded excellent results, increasing both its all day and peak time audience share in the basic commercial target group to 2.3% from 1.5% in the corresponding period of 2007. In July 2008, TVN Siedem also significantly increased its audience share in the key target group (16-34, cities over 100,000 inhabitants). TVN Siedem increased its peak time audience share to 3.8% from 2.4% in July 2007. At the same time, TVN Siedem’s all day audience share in the key target

group rose to 3.5% from 2.0% recorded last year.

 


21.07.2008 - Legia won the Polish Super Cup.

 

Legia Warszawa defeated Wisla Krakow 2:1 in the Extraklasa Polish Super Cup final. The first goal was scored in the 14th minute by Takesure Chinyama. 3 minutes later Piotr Rocki scored the second goal for Legia securing victory and the win of the Ekstraklasa Super Cup. Legia Warszawa won the Polish Super Cup for the forth time in its history, previously Legia won the trophy in 1997 when it played against Widzew Lodz.

 


16.07.2008 - Al Jazeera on Onet.pl.

 

Onet.pl has launched a new service providing content from the English edition of Al Jazeera. Al Jazeera's video streaming is available in the TV section of Wiadomosci.onet.pl as well as in the "Wiadomosci" ("News") section on Onet.tv, 24 hours 7 days a week and is free of charge. Al Jazeera's footage is complemented by a new discussion forum allowing the internet users an instant opinion exchange. Onet.pl is a medium that offers content from various sources trying to present all possible points of view. Two year ago Onet.pl has partnered the Financial Times, the world's leading financial magazine and several months ago with CNN. The portal provides content from several thematic channels of the ITI Group among which is TVN 24, Poland's best news channel.

 


14.07.2008 - Nokia mobile phones are OnetLajt enabled.

 

Onet.pl and Nokia, the phone manufacturer reached the agreement to release several new OnetLajt enabled mobile phone models featuring a built-in OnetLajt access. The first model, the Nokia 6300 has already hit the retail shelves and is available in Avans, Empik, Media Markt, Media Export, NeoNet, RTV Euro AGD, Saturn Planet, and Teletorium. Each mobile released by Nokia in cooperation with OnetLajt is equipped with the Opera Mini 4 software, currently the best mobile web browsing solution available on the market. Onet.pl was the first Polish Internet portal to introduce mobile services as early as in October 2006 and is the unquestionable market leader OnetLajt's mobile services record over 300'000 users on monthly basis, who in June 2008 alone generated over 8 million page views. OnetLajt and Nokia have already partnered before, recently together with Vobis they released a special EURO 2008 phone edition for football fans.

 


02.07.2008 - TVN's excellent audience share results in Q2.

 

TVN Group announced excellent audience share results for the second quarter 2008. TVN's all day nationwide audience share rose to 17.2% from 16.9% in the second quarter of 2007. In peak time (18.00-23.00 hours) TVN's nationwide audience share rose to 20.7% from 20.3% in the corresponding period of 2007. In the second quarter of 2008 in the basic commercial target group (16-49) TVN channel also performed very well and its all day audience share in that group rose to 17.9% in the second quarter of 2008 from 17.2% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN's audience share in peak time rose in that group to 20.9% in the second quarter of 2008 from 20.2% in the corresponding period of 2007.  In the second quarter of 2008 TVN channel also increased its audience share in the key target group (16-49, cities over 100,000 inhabitants). TVN's all day audience share in the key target group rose to 22.6% from 21.8% and in peak time TVN's audience share rose to 26.4% from 26.1% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN's spring schedule launched in March was extremely successful which was confirmed by TVN's audience share results for the second quarter of 2008. All of the ten most widely watched programs on our TVN channel were locally produced programs.

In the second quarter of 2008 the TVN Group channels recorded excellent results. Their aggregate all day nationwide audience share rose to 22.2% from 21.8% in the second quarter of 2007. The TVN Group channels aggregate nationwide audience share in peak time rose to 24.6% from 24.2% in the corresponding period of 2007. In June 2008 the TVN Group channels aggregate all day nationwide audience share was 19.9% compared to 20.9% in the corresponding period of 2007. In peak time the TVN Group channels aggregate nationwide audience share was 21.4% compared to 22.9% in June 2007. In the second quarter of 2008 TVN Siedem, the entertainment channel reaching 47% of Polish households, improved its audience share results. Its nationwide all day audience share rose to 1.6% from 1.4% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN Siedem channel's peak time nationwide audience share rose to 1.5% from 1.4% in the second quarter of 2007. In the second quarter of 2008 TVN Siedem also significantly improved its audience share in the key target group (16-34, cities over 100,000 inhabitants). Its all day audience share in the key target group rose to 3.1% from 2.3% in the corresponding period of 2007 while in peak time its audience share in that group rose to 3.4% from 2.3% in the second quarter of 2007.

24.06.2008 - TVN Group completes PLN 500 mln bond issue.

 

On June 23, 2008 TVN Group completed an offering of a five-year PLN 500 million bond Issue, being the first tranche of the recently announced PLN 1 bn bond program, maturing
in June 2013. The bonds are unsecured, bear interest of six months WIBOR plus 2,75%, and have early repayment options. TVN have closed the largest bond issue in Poland during 2008 at attractive terms, despite a generally difficult market environment for debt issuance. TVN's ability to raise PLN 500 million at terms which create value for its shareholders shows that the investor community has great confidence in TVN Group's continuous strong financial performance, ability to keep with important strategic moves, competitive advantage in order to outperform the market on
a sustainable basis. Bank Pekao S.A. acted as arranger and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. and BRE Bank S.A. acted as co-arrangers of this bond offering.

 


23.06.2008 - Netia and "n" , the new generation television jointly offering triple-play.

 

On 23.06.2008 Netia SA and "n", the new generation television entered into a strategic partnership to launch triple-play services combining television, Internet and telephony. Netia and "n"s joint offer is a response to the great demand for innovative multimedia solutions as well as broadband growth in Poland. Both companies are unquestionably leaders in their fields. ITI Neovision expects to extend its reach to cable networks (mostly urban areas) and Netia seeks to enrich its portfolio by adding the multimedia services. Clients will benefit from the services offered not only in form of an integrated high quality service but also highly competitive offer to appear on the Polish market.

 


02.06.2008 - TVN holds excellent audience share results.

 

In May 2008 TVN channel recorded excellent results even though it reaches only 87% of households in Poland. Its nationwide all day audience share rose to 17.7% from 17.1% in May 2007. In peak time (6-11pm.) TVN’s nationwide audience share rose to 21.7% from 20.6% in the corresponding period of 2007. Thanks to such good performance TVN was the second, after TVP1, most widely watched television channel in Poland and the one to record the biggest share increase. In May 2008, in the basic commercial target group (16-49) TVN channel also significantly improved its results. In peak time TVN was in that group the most widely watched television channel in Poland recording an audience share of 21.9%, compared to 20.5% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN also increased its all day audience share to 18.5% from 17.4% in May 2007 and, out of the four big television channels in Poland, TVN was the only one to record growth in the basic commercial target group on an all day basis. In May 2008, in the key target group (16-49, cities 100,000+) TVN channel increased its all day audience share to 23.7% from 21.7% in May 2007. TVN’s key target group audience share in peak time rose to 27.9% from 26.1% in the corresponding period of 2007. Such excellent results in May 2008 are due to TVN’s well targeted programming offer, including locally produced series and programs introduced with our spring schedule launched in March and excellent foreign movies. Nine out of the ten most widely watched programs on our TVN channel were locally produced programs. In May 2008 TVN Group channels aggregate all day audience share rose to 22.7% from 22.0% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN Group channels aggregate audience share in peak time rose to 25.7% form 24.6% in May 2007.

 


02.06.2008 - TVN stars win over Polish politicians.


The "big football charity return match" organized by the TVN Foundation "you are not alone" together with TVN which took place on 01.06.2008 ended up with the result of 3:1 for TVN. Jacek Kurski (PiS) scored the point for the Polish parliament team, the goals for TVN were scored by Piotr Popowski, Lukasz Grass and Tomasz Jachimek. Next to the outstanding atmosphere, applause from the audience and the Gold Cup from Bozena Walter, the President of TVN Foundation "you are not alone", the players could be happy raising around PLN 420'000 gathered from sms and tickets proceeds (more than 12'000 tickets sold) and additional PLN 49'000 earned from the auction of a Fiat 500 with the foot print of Edward Acki. The funds raised will be used to purchase ambulances for children clinics.

 


02.06.2008 - Aukcje Lajt, Onet.pl provides a mobile version of the popular auction service.

 

Onet.pl in cooperation with Allegro.pl, Poland's biggest auction service, launched a light version of the auction service Aukcje.lajt.pl . Aukcje Lajt is a user-friendly mobile phone enabled service giving easy access to the service's major functions. Mobile phone users can view offers, compare prices, bid and buy items given up for auction. All auctioned items' descriptions are accompanied by their images and information on the seller. Bidders can read comments on sellers, view other auctioned by them items as well as ask them questions. Aukcje Allegro is Poland's most popular on-line auction service, it has been available on Onet.pl almost from its launch as "Onet.pl Aukcje". Aukcje Lajt is an additional mobile service provided by Onet.pl through its OnetLajt platform, launched in October 2006. OnetLajt is Poland's first mobile internet portal version, which currently hosts over 20 thematic services. Onet.pl ranks first on the mobile services market averaging over 300.000 users visiting OnetLajt on a monthly basis. The number of visitors is growing rapidly.

 


19.05.2008 - TVN Foundation "You are not alone" invites to the "big football charity return match: TVN stars against the Polish Sejm representatives".

 

The "big football charity return match" organized by the TVN Foundation "you are not alone" together with TVN will take place on 01.06.2008 at 13.45 at Legia's stadium. The "big match" will be broadcast live on TVN. Tickets are available in two price categories PLN 10.- and PLN 25.- at Empik, Media Markt and Saturn shops as well as on-line at www.ticketpro.pl. TVN stars together with TVN's management board members such as Piotr Walter (the Captain) and Lukasz Wejchert, Andrzej Morozowski, Tomasz Sekielski, Kamil Durczok, Bogdan Rymanowski, Szymon Majewski, Tomasz Karolak and Pawel Malaszynski will play against representatives of the Polish parliament among them Jacek Kurski (PiS), Wojciech Olejniczak and Ryszard Kalisz (SLD), Zbigniew Cwiakalski and Grzegorz Schetyna (PO). The ticket proceeds will be used to purchase two ambulances for the University Children's Clinic in Cracow and a hospital in Sokolowo Podlaskie. 14.05.2008 - Legia takes the Polish Cup.

 

Legia Warszawa defeated Wisla Krakow 4:3 on penalties and won the Polish Cup for the 13th time in its history. Right from the beginning Legia dominated the game, despite Wisla's team having as much as seven Polish National Team players on the field. The Legia's goal keeper showed an outstanding performance repelling efforts from Jean Paulista and Marcin Baszczynski. Roger Guerrieiro has been recognized as the best player of the year and was presented a Mercedes car from the Polish Cup's sponsor.

 


13.05.2008 - TVN Group reports consolidated first quarter 2008 results.

 

TVN Group today announced very good results for the first quarter of 2008. TVN Group's consolidated net revenue increased 22% to PLN 402 million. Onet's cash revenue increased 27% to PLN 35 million. TVN Group's operating profit increased 14 % to PLN 108 million, operating margin was 27%. TVN Group's EBITDA increased 13 % to PLN 127 million, EBITDA margin was 32%. TVN Group's net profit increased 35% to PLN 63 million. TVN Group's aggregated all day nationwide audience share increased to 22.1% from 21.2%. Our aggregated all day nationwide audience share increased to 24% in March and 23.8% in April 2008 from 22.2% and 22.6% in the prior year. The prime time basic commercial target group audience share of our TVN channel increased to 21% from 20.9% in the previous year. TVN Group's aggregated prime time nationwide audience share increased to 24.8% from 24.5%. The prime time basic commercial target group audience share of our TVN channel increased to 23.6% in March 2008 and 23.4% in April 2008 from 22.6% and 21.5% in the corresponding periods of 2007. 12.05.2008 - "Love equations" at Multikino cinemas across Poland.

 

Poland's number 1 dating service Sympatia.pl entered into partnership with Multikino's "Singles' Nights" program. Since 24.04.2008 every Thursday Multikino cinemas across Poland carry a preview or premiering performance targeted at singles. Starting from 15.05.2008 Onet's Sympatia.pl joins the project with its "Love equations" program. Within "Love equations" Sympatia.pl members have the chance to win tickets for "Singles' Night" at Multikino by taking part in an on-line competition "Gramy w single". At the same time visitors of Multikino's Thursday events will receive a brochure and a free access code to test the dating service along with their ticket. 05.05.2008 - TVN announced outstanding audience share results for April 2008.

 

TVN announced its outstanding audience share results for April 2008. TVN was the undisputable market leader in the basic commercial target group (16-49), both on an all day basis and in peak time (6-11 pm), even though it reaches only 87% of households in Poland. TVN was also the only big four channel to record growth in that group on an all day basis. TVN's all day audience share in the basic commercial target group rose to 19.7% from 18.1% in April 2007. In peak time TVN's audience share in the basic commercial target group rose to 23.2% from 21.1% in April 2007. In peak time TVN channel overtook by more than 4 percentage points TVP1 (18.9%), by almost 3 percentage points Polsat (20.4%) and by more than 7 percentage points TVP2 (15.8%). TVN channel was also the most widely watched channel in peak time on a nationwide basis and the only big four channel to record growth in its nationwide all day audience share. TVN's nationwide audience share in peak time rose to 22.4% from 21.3% in April 2007. TVN's all day nationwide audience share rose to 18.8% from 17.7% in the corresponding period of 2007. At the same time, on an all day basis Polsat (15.3%) recorded a loss of more than 2 percentage points, TVP1 (22.2%) and TVP2 (17.0%) lost almost 1 percentage point. In April 2008 TVN's all day audience share in the key target group (16-49, cities 100,000+) rose to 24.0% from 23.2% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN's peak time audience share in the key target group rose to 28.8% from 27.5% in April 2007. Such excellent results in April 2008 are due to TVN's well targeted programming offer, including excellent foreign movies as well as exceptionally popular locally produced series and programs. All of ten most widely watched programs on TVN were the channel's own production.

 


22.04.2008 - Singles' nights at Multikino.

 

On 24.04.2008 Multikino will launch its new initiative aimed at single people. Every Thursday at 8pm all Multikino cinemas across Poland will carry a preview or premiering performance in particular for those who did not yet find their perfect "match". The idea behind the project is to facilitate socializing and making new acquaintances. According to statistics around 5 mln Poles in the age between 25 and 40 live without partners and the number will increase by a further 2 mln until the year 2030. Being single became a new lifestyle especially in big cities which also make it easy accommodating variety of social and cultural events aimed at single people.

 


02.04.2008 - TVN’s outstanding performance in March 2008.

 

In March 2008 the TVN Group channels aggregate all day nationwide audience share rose to 24.0% from 22.2% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN Group channels aggregate nationwide audience share in prime time rose to 26.9% from 26.2% in March 2007. In March 2008 TVN channel recorded excellent results. TVN channel also improved its nationwide audience share in prime time recording 22.7% compared to 22.4% in March 2007, which gave TVN the market leader position. In March 2008 TVN Siedem, the entertainment channel reaching 47% of Polish households, improved its audience share results. Its all day nationwide audience share rose to 1.8% from 1.5% in March 2007. In prime time TVN Siedem also increased its audience share to 1.9% from 1.4% in the corresponding period of 2007. On March 27 TVN Group successfully launched its newest Internet vortal - Plejada.pl. It is an interactive multimedia site dedicated to show business. Plejada.pl is the first project on Polish market available immediately on launch via three platforms - Internet, mobile phones and “n” platform. On the first day Plejada.pl recorded almost 4 mln page views.

 


31.03.2008 - Plejada.pl, the new online thematic platform.

 

TVN and Onet.pl launched Plejada.pl, the multimedia entertainment platform dedicated to the world of show business. The new service provides extensive content on, about and from the world of television, music, theater and fashion, celebrities featuring news and interviews. As Karolina Korwin Piotrowska, chief-editor, emphasizes all information provided on Plejada.pl is verified and reliable. The main content part of available on the platform is made up from Polish entertainment television formats. The Internet users will also have an opportunity to watch the episodes of their favorite series ahead of their premiere on the television screen as well as to purchase DVDs or gadgets from the most popular programs. Plejada.pl shall also serve as an interactive community service inviting the Internet users to participate in variety of competitions, opinion polls, quizzes, games as well as discussion forums and fan clubs. Plejada.pl, which is available on the Internet, through the mobile phones (in the lajt version) and on the "n" platform, has been produced by DreamLab. 26.03.2008 - TVN, Poland's favorite Easter channel.

 

TVN recorded outstanding audience share results during the Easter weekend. From Friday till Monday, TVN channel delivered the best audience share results in the basic commercial target group (16-49) and second best all day nationwide audience results, after TVP1. According to data from AGB Nielsen Media Research, between 21.03.2008 and 24.03.2008, TVN showed the highest audience share results in the 16-49 group. Its all day audience share rose to 21.6% from 18.8% in the corresponding period in last year. Thanks to that, TVN channel overtook TVP1, Polsat and TVP2 which recorded audience share results in the 16-49 group of, respectively, 20.2%, 16.5% and 14.8%. Additionally, TVN channel's all day nationwide audience share rose to 19.3% from 17.4% in comparison to the corresponding period of 2007. Among four major channels in Poland, TVN was the only one to increase its audience share results in comparison to the corresponding period in last year.

 


25.03.2008 - Winners of the Dream-project announced!

 

Grupa Onet.pl and DreamLab Onet.pl announced the winners of the "Dream-project" competition seeking the most innovative multimedia project. Over 600 competing projects, divided into three categories were submitted. The contest entries in the categories interactive/multimedia project, utility program and on-line community service were judged by a jury made up of: Łukasz Wejchert (president of the board of Grupa Onet.pl SA and vice-president of the board of TVN SA), Grzegorz Wójcik (president of DreamLab Onet.pl Sp. z o.o. and member of the board of Grupa Onet.pl SA), Olgierd Dobrzyński (member of the board of TVN SA and director of Business Development Department of TVN SA), Roman Młodkowski (director of the Business Services Department of TVN SA and programming director of TVN CNBC). The awards went to Tomasz Wykurz for his "Reklama interaktywna" project, to Mateusz Kustra for his application project "Serwis w twoim domu", and to Sebastian Inglot for his "18 lat i co dalej" community service for the first, second and third place, with each winner receiving PLN 20,000, PLN 10,000 and PLN 5,000 respectively. 19.03.2008 - Multikino to host Bollywoodfestiwal.pl.

 

Between 01.04.2008 and 06.04.2008 Multikino in cooperation with Epelpol Entertainment, the leading Polish distributor of Bollywood movies, will host Poland's first Bollywoodfestiwal.pl. The first 6 days of April will see Indian cinemas largest hits on the program of all eleven Multikino sites across the country. Titles include the Bollywood's largest hits such as "Dhoom2", "Chak de! India" or "Guru". The Bollywoodfestival.pl aims to show a different side of Bollywood film industry, than that most known to Poles and perceived as romantic, strongly censored ethnic cinema. Multikino aims to draw the attention to similarities of the seemingly different cultures of West and East by showing a diversified selection of contemporary and universal Bollywood productions.

 


17.03.2008 - Zumi.pl now on mobile phones.

 

Zumi.pl, the online location finder and Onet.pl have launched ZumiLajt (www.Zumi.lajt.pl) the mobile version of the popular Zumi service. ZumiLajt provides detailed maps and satellite pictures of Poland and a data-base of over half a million addresses of companies and institutions, enabling any mobile phone user to find and locate any company, institution or service of their interest on their phone. ZumiLajt has other useful functionalities such as a module to set routes and evaluate the time needed to reach the destination or to browse and scale the map of Poland (in traditional or satellite version). ZumiLajt enables its users to contact a selected company, restaurant or shop within one click from the result list level in browser. ZumiLajt service fees are very favorable. Onet.pl does not charge for its service, so the only costs ZumiLajt's users have to account for are small charges of the mobile carrier for a data transfer. Along with www.Zumi.lajt.pl start up, an adequate section within Zumi.pl (www.Zumi.pl/lajt ) has been launched, which allows an easy set up of www.Zumi.lajt.pl as a default page in one's mobile phone upon sending a text message.

 


28.02.2008 - "n", the new generation television on Legia's shirts.

 

The new generation television, n and the Legia Warszawa Football Club decided for a joint marketing campaign. The "n" logo will appear on the Legia players' T-shirts during 2007/2008 spring round . The new generation television will use Legia's image in its marketing activities. nSport, the sport channel available on the n platform is to broadcast the HD documentary series "Legia - a stake bigger than a match" about Legia players and their lives beyond the soccer field. The cooperation of n, the new generation television and the KP Legia Warszawa is a natural step to promote Legia's activities as well as the sport discipline itself.

 


27.02.2008 - TVN requested the European Commission to investigate public aid granted to TVP.

 

TVN believes that the Polish State provides public aid to the broadcasting sector and the related practices adopted are contrary to European Union law. TVN requested the European Commission to investigate whether the public aid, in form of license fees and other advantages, granted to TVP, Poland's public broadcaster are in compliance with European law. TVN believes that the current regulations remarkably weaken the market position of private broadcasters to the benefit of TVP and are seriously distorting competition on Polish television broadcasting market.

25.02.2008 - Tygodnik Powszechny gets a new look.

 

Tygodnik.onet.pl has a brand new look following the changes in the magazine's print version. The new on-line design has been adjusted to the print format, however since websites are no longer only virtual versions of the printed text, the new site offers extended functionalities, e.g. downloads of programmes from Religia.tv and exclusive web commentaries by Tygodnik's renown journalist base. The new website hosts articles featured in the current issue of Tygodnik, archive articles and commentaries by Tygodnik's columnists, as well as blogs by Anna Łabuszewska, Artur Sporniak, Małgorzata Nocuń and Andrzej Brzeziecki. The idea behind a new website was to create a place to allow an exchange of thoughts and opinions between Tygodnik's writers and its readers. Tygodnik has always considered a dialogue as the keynote of its identity and that is why the new website becomes increasingly interactive.

 


18.02.2008 - TVN Group reports consolidated fourth quarter and full year 2007 results.

 

Today, TVN Group announced very good financial results for the fourth quarter and full year 2007. Aggregated TVN Group channels all day nationwide audience share increased to 21.8% from 20.8% in 2006. TVN 24 channel increased its all day key target group audience share to 6.2% from 4.2% in 2006. The average total time spent on Onet.pl in the eleven month period ended November 30, 2007 increased to 65.2 million hours monthly from 51.5 million hours monthly in the corresponding period of 2006. The monthly average number of Onet.pl's page views in the eleven month period ended November 30, 2007 increased to 2,836 million from 2,191 million in the corresponding period of 2006. TVN Group net revenues increased by 34% to PLN 1,555 million from PLN 1,165 million in 2006. TVN Group operating profit increased by 38% to PLN 482 million. TVN Group EBITDA increased by 39% to 554 million from PLN 400 million in 2006. TVN Group adjusted profit increased 42% to PLN 330 million. In 2007 TVN Group also confirmed its ability to strengthen market position by introducing new thematic channels - TVN CNBC Biznes, Telezakupy Mango 24 and by launching new internet brands such as zumi.pl and tvn24.pl. Standard & Poor's Ratings Services and Moody's Investors Service upgraded TVN Group credit ratings. TVN dominated the 2008 Telekamery television awards and for the second time in a row TVN was recognized as the number one public company in Poland.

06.02.2008 - TVN Group channels record solid performance in January 2008.

 

TVN Group announced audience share results for January 2008. In January 2008 the TVN Group channels aggregate all day audience share rose to 20.7% from 20.3% in the corresponding period of 2007. TVN Group channels aggregate prime time audience share rose to 23.4% from 23.2% in January 2007. In January 2008 TVN channel continue to be the second most watched television channel in Poland in prime time. In January 2008 in TVN channel's coverage area, TVN recorded excellent results. In prime time TVN's nationwide audience share in the channel's coverage area was 21.6%, being the highest out of all television channels in Poland. In the basic commercial target group (16-49) TVN was in prime time the most widely watched television channel in Poland (21.5%). In January 2008 TVN Siedem, entertainment channel reaching 42% of Polish households, improved its audience share results. Its all day nationwide audience share rose to 1.7% from 1.4% in January 2007. In prime time TVN Siedem also increased its audience share to 1.7% from 1.4% in the corresponding period of 2007. In January 2008 TVN has successfully relaunched the quiz show Milionerzy (Who wants to be a millionaire). The first emission attracted 3.5 mln viewers. Thanks to that TVN channel recorded a 25.5% share in the nationwide audience and was an uncontested leader of the market. The emission of January 27 attracted over 4 mln viewers, being the third of January's most widely watched programs broadcast on TVN channel.

14.01.2008 - Legia played for the "Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation".

 

As last year Legia participated in the 16th Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation campaign. Legia's players divided in teams participated in football tournaments taking place in three different locations. Additionally, Legia players donated a signed copy of the club's 2008 calendar which has been auctioned. TVN and TVN24 provided the coverage from the last day of the charity campaign which was attended by 120 thousands volunteers and gathered PLN 30 million to support the treatment of children with laryngological disorders.

 


08.01.2008 - Wiadomości.onet.pl enriched by CNN International materials.

 

Poland's most popular on-line news service, Wiadomości.onet.pl, has been enriched by adding news and video coverage from CNN International. CNN's materails are available in a separate CNN section and will soon also appear on the Onet.tv platform. Daily 10 CNN headlines translated into Polish appear on Onet.pl's news portal and soon the service will also host 10 video materials in the original language version. Additionally, on a monthly basis Onet'pl is to provide the access to CNN online magazines such as "Quest", "Business Traveller", "Inside the Middle East", "Art of Life" and "Revealed". As a result of the cooperation between Onet.pl and CNN Polish Internet users gained even greater choice of fast and reliable information. In October 2007, Polish "news, journalism and media" related sites were visited by 11.1 million net users, which accounts for 80% of all Polish Internet users. Onet.pl's news services recorded 5,3 million visitors, almost half (48%) of the Internet users looking for on-line news, which gives the portal a leading position on the market.

 


07.01.2008 - TVN Group channels show an increase audience share in 2007.

 

In 2007 the TVN Group channels increased their all day nationwide audience share to 21.8% from 20.8%, and also increased their prime time nationwide audience share to 24.8% from 24.2% in 2006. In 2007 our TVN channel all day nationwide audience share was 16.5% compared to 16.7% in 2006, while its prime time nationwide audience share was 20.5% compared to 20.8% in 2006. Thanks to these results in 2007 TVN channel confirmed its position of the second most watched television channel in Poland in prime time, after TVP1. In 2007 TVN 24 channel increased its all day nationwide audience share to 3% from 2% in 2006, while its all day key target group (25+, cities 100,000+, above average income) audience share rose to 6.2% from 4.2% in 2006. In 2007, the top programs broadcast on TVN were: our entertainment show "Taniec z Gwiazdami", our main news bulletin "Fakty", our series "Na Wspólnej", our docu-crime "W11-Wydział Śledczy", our entertainment show "You can dance - Po prostu tańcz!" and our current affairs program "Uwaga!" The top movie was "Shrek 2". Seven out of the ten most widely watched programs on our TVN channel were locally produced programs. In December 2007 the all day nationwide audience share of all TVN Group channels was 20.8% compared to 21.1% in the corresponding period of 2006. In prime time TVN Group channels nationwide audience share was 23.7% compared to 24.5% in December 2006. 07.01.2008 - TVN updates its corporate design.

 

On 02.01.2008 TVN broadcasts up in a new look. After 6 years TVN refreshed its id ads, commercial block frames as well as certain auto-promotional elements such as trailers' design, information bars and programming navigation. The color palette has been extended, and next to blue and orange, white appears in the new design . TVN's logo and its font did not change, neither TVN's music motive, which however can be heard in new versions. TVN's new design has been created by the German company VELVET, one of the leading design agencies, which has been cooperating with TVN since 2001.
